![]() Lemongrab’s troublesome ceiling hole is fixed, and LSP is now queen of Lumpy Space, embracing the responsibility that she’s been fleeing for so long.īut the two were always depicted as outsiders, incapable of finding their niche, even in the odd land of Ooo. Nothing in the closing scenes really confirms that, but both are shown to have found peace, finally. But does that mean that the two most eccentric residents of Ooo are now a couple? It seems that the world of Ooo always needs an Ice King, perhaps to maintain an ecological balance.Īn unexpected kiss indeed, far more so than the long-awaited moment between Marceline and Bubblegum. But hey, he found love pretty quickly, in the form of Turtle Princess. Either stunted little Gunter genuinely looked up to the Ice King and wanted to emulate him, or Evergreen’s influence is still seeping through the crown’s magic.Įither way, Ooo has a new Ice King, and he seems even less perceptive than the last one. Somehow, the evil entity inside of Gunter didn’t emerge when he put on that crown. The two women are practically immortal, and Marceline’s laid-back attitude is the perfect antidote to Bubblegum’s control freakery - it’s hard not to imagine them living happily ever after. Now that the two are officially a couple, Bubblegum might finally stop her misguided attempts to build her own family twisted creations like Gumbald and Lemongrab only led to havoc for the Candy Kingdom. The kiss finally happened, romantic relationship canonically confirmed on screen. ![]() The question remains, was Fern just alternate-Finn, driven mad by the demon? Or an entirely new individual, a mixture of both entities? I suppose it doesn’t matter anymore, because Fern died, sort of, growing into the tree that stands where the iconic treehouse used to be.īut the Finn sword still remains. After Finn destroyed the Grass Demon, Fern’s body quickly fell apart, though he seemed to have been restored, mentally. It’s been a tortuous journey for Fern, with identity issues plaguing him for the entirety of his short life, while the malicious entity inside drove him insane, simultaneously fueling his life force. The Ballad of Betty and Simon didn’t end, and it’s up in the air whether Simon will go to the same lengths to try and get Betty back.īut it’s clear that Simon is somewhat content, surrounded by friends in Ooo, and hopefully won’t succumb to the madness and isolation that plagued Betty. She did wish to keep Simon safe, however, so that might mean she will stay away from him, forever, seeing as she is an immensely destructive god.īut Simon is shown paying Prismo a visit, with the empty basketball hoop and Prismo’s sad reaction indicating that Simon cannot simply wish Betty back to normal. Returning him to his old self was an unexpected surprise, but now the tables have cruelly turned, with the doomed couple having drifted even further apart.įor Betty sacrificed herself and merged into GOLB, becoming the unholy embodiment of pure chaos, and it’s unclear how much control she has over her new form. Saintly Simon has led a fairly selfless life, when he was in full control of his facilities, anyway. His unique, cross-bred family, however, is definitely impacting the future of Ooo. Jake was never a particularly motivated guy, and after he discovered the secret of his stretchy powers, he didn’t have a lot left to do. ![]() While Jake appeared to be just as happy relaxing as Finn, we see his children reopen the detective studio, and his descendants appear to be pretty prolific in the new opening sequence with Shermy and Beth (Beth clearly being one of the family). ![]() Kind of disappointed that we didn’t get to see who Finn becomes romantically involved with, but I guess he’s happy being single, for the time being. We can probably assume that Finn goes on to live a fairly normal life, surrounded by family and fellow humans, from then on. One-armed Finn is just chillin’ by the lake with Jake, indicating that he has given up his adventuring lifestyle for good, and is content to live without a sword in his hand, his missing limb a reminder of the dangerous lifestyle he used to enjoy.īut the rest of the world’s humans (including Finn’s mother) arrive on the shore to join him. Thus far, Finn has punched, kicked and slashed his way through every obstacle he’s ever encountered, managing to tear through a Lovecraftian cosmic deity and destroy the embodiment of pure evil, through sheer force of will.īut in the belly of the beast of chaos, Finn finally found himself in a place he couldn’t punch his way out of, stating, “I always figured I’d go out saving someone.” But Finn was (thankfully) spared from death, and in the closing credits, we see that he never bothered to replace his lost mechanical arm. ![]()
